為婆婆維修電器及安裝電燈
今天協助一位居住於土瓜灣的獨居婆婆改善家居，婆婆的兒子結婚後已移民到台灣定居，女兒也已結婚搬到外面住，婆婆家庭支援網絡薄弱，經濟方面依靠長者生活津貼過活。由於過往家中的維修問題一直由他們解決，如請師傅加裝電制位、自行修補天花石屎剥落，因為是次的維修內容房協也沒有支援。
是次我們與聖雅各維修義工及建祝義工隊合作，義務師傅為婆婆：
1）更換舊式電制位及插頭，並教導婆婆使用電器時先用一樣，後用第二樣，不要同時使用兩樣電器，避免電路負荷過重。
2）維修廁所水箱，把已壞掉的水泵換成新水泵及維修沖廁制位。
3）把已斷了的抽油煙機排氣喉更換成新的排氣喉，讓廢氣直接排出屋外，不用排到屋內的牆上。
4）處理多餘的電線，避免觸及時產生危險。
5）固定過長的電線，讓有電線的位置更安全。
婆婆得到我們的協助後感到很開心，亦願意成為我們的探訪義工。

Today, we helped a live alone elder woman living in To Kwa Wan to improve her home. The client’s son had already immigrated to Taiwan to settle down after marriage. Her daughter has been married and moved outside. The client’s family support network is weak, and the economy relies on the Old Age Living Allowance. Due to the maintenance problems in the past, they have been solved by them. For example, ask the master to install the electric position and repair the small stone shovel. Because the maintenance content is not supported by the Hong Kong Housing Society. This time we cooperated with the St. James Settlement’s volunteers and the Build & Wish Voluntary Team, and the volunteers help the client as below:
1) Replace the old electric position and plug, and teach the client to use one electrical appliance first, then use the second electrical appliance, do not use two kinds of electrical appliances at the same time, to avoid overloading the circuit.
2) Repair the toilet water tank, replace the broken water pump with a new water pump and repair the toilet flushing position.
3) Replace the broken range hood exhaust hose with a new exhaust vent, so that the exhaust gas can be directly discharged outside the house without being discharged to the wall inside the house.
4) Dispose of excess wires to avoid danger in time.
5) Fix the wires too long to make the location of the wires safer.
The client was very happy after receiving our assistance and was willing to be our visiting volunteer.
