Recently, we heard that there was a company need to relocate due to their vocational work. There was various abandoned furniture in their office. If we do not accept the furniture, it will become garbage and be transported to landfills. However, we have to face transportation and storage problems by accepting the furniture. The cost of transporting and storing large furniture is high. In order to take advantage of the furniture, we can only lease mini-storage and industrial buildings to deposit the furniture. Although many people are willing to donate materials in Hong Kong, transferring and storing materials have always been an arduous journey of materials transition.
In addition, we are fortunate to have furniture from Consulate General of Sweden in Hong Kong and IKEA by Operation Santa Claus HK’s referral. Owing to lack of space in our office, we have to rent mini-storage and industrial buildings to store the materials. We will send the furniture to the needy families who are living in subdivided unit as soon as possible. Let the materials realize their value.
